Diablo II Forever
You don't need D2F to play — just your own copy of Diablo II: Lord of Destruction, patched to 1.14d. One click adds the realm to your game's gateway list, and you pick it like any other server. No hosts file, no admin rights.
Download and run the setup file, then press 1:
⬇ Diablo II Forever — Realm Setup.bat
It just adds "Diablo II Forever" to Diablo II's gateway list in your own
registry (per-user, no admin). Your browser may warn about a downloaded .bat — choose
Keep, then Run anyway. Press 2 in the same file any time to remove it.
Prefer not to download a file? Open Command Prompt and paste this one line:
reg add "HKCU\Software\Battle.net\Configuration" /v "Diablo II Battle.net gateways" /t REG_MULTI_SZ /d "1009\001\0uswest.battle.net\08\0U.S. West\0useast.battle.net\06\0U.S. East\0asia.battle.net\0-9\0Asia\0europe.battle.net\0-1\0Europe\0157.151.158.42\08\0Diablo II Forever" /f
Start Diablo II. At the main menu — before you click Battle.net — click Gateway and choose Diablo II Forever from the list. Then click Battle.net and Create Account.
If you were already in the game when you ran the setup, restart it so the new realm shows up in the gateway list.
Log in, make a character, and you're on the realm.
Your character is saved to the realm's chain — it persists, and no single machine can lose or rewrite it.
"Diablo II Forever" isn't in the gateway list — make sure the setup said "Done", and fully restart Diablo II (the list is read at startup).
"Unable to connect" — the realm may be offline at the moment (it's community-hosted), or a firewall is blocking it. Try again shortly, or ask in the community.
Browser blocked the download — use the copy-paste command above instead; it does exactly the same thing.
