Diablo II Forever

A closed Diablo II realm that no one can shut down. Your character's history lives on a signed, encrypted chain that everyone who plays helps hold — so no single machine, including the one hosting your game, can lose it or quietly rewrite it.

Play

1
Use your own Diablo II: Lord of Destruction, patched to 1.14d — the version nearly everyone has. No launcher, no D2F.
2
Run the one-click setup — it adds Diablo II Forever to your game's realm list. No hosts file, no admin.
3
Pick Diablo II Forever from the in-game gateway list, create an account, and play. Your character lives on the chain, not one server.

Host games

Have Diablo II? D2F turns your PC into a full realm — login, game server, and chain — from the one file, and tunnels itself to the network so there's nothing to configure. Every host serves players at once: no machine is in charge, so any one of them can go dark and the realm plays on.

Hold the chain

No game needed. D2F keeps an encrypted, verify-only backup of every character — one it cannot read or forge — and heals itself if tampered.

One realm across many machines — same games, same chat, same characters, whoever you're connected to. The more people run D2F, the harder it is to lose, corrupt, or kill.

How it works

Every save appends a hash-chained, signed entry. Anyone can pull the chain, verify every link themselves against a pinned key, and co-sign what they verified. A fork halts replication until a human looks. Trust is something you can check, not something you're asked for. Character saves are encrypted, so the people holding your backup keep it safe without ever reading it. And a save that couldn't come from real play — an injected item, an impossible level — is caught, flagged, and rolled back to the chain before it can enter a game.
